HOLY MATRIMONY AT ALL SOULS
Holy Matrimony is a Christian marriage in which two consenting adults enter into a life-long union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows.
Those seeking holy matrimony must qualify for marriage according to the canons of the church and the laws of the State of New York and must satisfactorily complete three ninety-minute sessions of pre-marital counseling with the clergy, and one session with a married couple from All Souls. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure the two parties planning their marriage fully understand the sacrament and the vows they are about to declare to themselves, God, and their family and friends.
Couples planning to get married at All Souls should plan on attending Sunday services at All Souls regularly before their marriage. It is our hope and expectation that the newlyweds will also return to worship at All Souls after their marriage.
If couples are currently regularly attending another Episcopal or Lutheran Church, it is possible to be counseled by their local priest in preparing for marriage. For more information, including fees, the availability of the church and the priest for pre-marital counseling, call Victoria Almash in the church office @ 631-751-0034.
