All Souls hosts a variety of educational offerings

Our Christian Education Programs are for both children and adults with an interest in exploring, discussing, and learning about the Christian faith.

As a separate program, the non faith-based Mill Pond Preschool offers a safe and nurturing program for all children and their families in which to grow.

Christian Education Programs

All Souls welcomes families and we offer Christian education for children after the Sunday service during coffee hour and fellowship. We are a "child-friendly" church and children participate fully in the holy Eucharist.

For 2005-2006 we will offer three groups of instruction:

Seedlings Program for preschool and early elementary children - age 4/5-10 [two groups]
Episcopal Church Curriculum for junior high level - age 11/12-teens

Older children can volunteer to help the other classes or meet as a group with our vicar for instruction towards Confirmation.

Our teachers are members of the All Souls family who have volunteered to work with our church school children. Our children are an important part of regular Sunday service and fully participate in the Sunday Eucharist.

The children and teachers put on an annual Christmas pageant.

Adult Education

We hope to offer evening programs in bible study, church history and religion throughout the year based on the interests of the congregation. All interested people are invited; membership in All Souls is not required.

Mill Pond Preschool of All Souls Episcopal Church
QUALITY CHILD CARE & PRESCHOOL FOR CHILDREN 18 mos. to 5 yrs.

About Our School

The All Souls Mill Pond Preschool exists to serve the community by providing a quality child care program in a safe and nurturing setting where care and education are indistinguishable. The curriculum, programs, activities and policies are designed to guide and nourish children between the ages of 18 months and five years in their social, physical, and intellectual development. The school is an integral part of the educational ministry of All Souls Episcopal Church, Stony Brook.

  • Children are encouraged to explore the world around them through play, creative expression and developmentally appropriate academics.

  • Equipping children with knowledge and skills enriched by traditional Judeo-Christian values.

  • Parents play a vital role by their involvement as observers, participants and supporters of the school.

  • The learning environment will provide opportunities for fostering positive self esteem and respect for one another.

  • Use of community resources will be an integral part of the program.

  • Individualized attention that respects and preserves the uniqueness of each child is maximized by a low child/teacher ratio.
  • Our program is designed to develop the whole child and to nurture all of his or her inborn qualities.
